True to character we should not rule out any options but George Manos has made the decision to retire from legal practice.
George has made a huge contribution to the legal profession in a career spanning over four decades. He has been an important part of the Botten Levinson team since 2007.
George’s work as a planning lawyer has been the hallmark of his career. He has navigated four generations of planning legislation and argued more planning appeals in the ERD Court than any other lawyer.
His work has been typified by ‘outside of the box’ thinking and the stubborn pursuit of outcomes for his clients. It is these traits that have perhaps led to many judgments that are still relied upon under the new planning system.
Above all, George’s career stands out for his kindness and compassion towards clients, driven by his desire to help others. His camaraderie with colleagues and sense of fun have always helped to diffuse the stress of legal practice.
George will finish with the firm on 29 November 2022.
We thank George for his contributions and wish him all the best in his retirement.
